Position Qualifications:
The successful candidate will require Bachelor Science degree in one of the following: Mechanical / Civil / Structural Engineering discipline. Experience of 15 – 20 years-relevant experience is desired. Field construction experience successfully managing mining, or refinery and or industrial projects in excess of $1B USD contract value is required. Experience managing international diverse teams executing mining projects using PMC, EPCM or Direct Labor management protocol. Key focus on brownfield field assignments, responsibilities and accountabilities including copper concentrate processing, copper smelters, precious metal refineries are considered relevant. Direct copper smelter engineering and construction experience preferred.
The Precious Metal Refinery Area Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and is a Key Management Position in the TCE, AMIN, PMC Organization.
Work History and Position Overview:
A history of progressive direct supervision and labor management responsibility on world class projects over $1.0 B USD in contract value. A history of successful remote deployments in challenging and diverse construction camp environments, with minimal R&R opportunities, humid, rainy, and adverse tropical environment is required.
The successful candidate will have diverse experience in Direct Management, EPCM and PMC management experience for LSTK projects internationally. The successful candidate will be assigned specific DOR (Division of responsibilities) by the Construction Manager and Project Manager best suited to skills developed and to be developed during the project timeline.
· Historical responsibility interacting as a lead in area engineering design reviews, general arrangement, and site access planning to facilitate PMR area construction through detailed design. · Ability to review and comment on engineering submissions, review of constructability design parameters, estimating of quantities for construction materials, verification of field progress in a quantity surveyor capacity. · Safety leadership and acumen, leadership by example and commitment to safe work habits. · Familiarity with stringent security measures for facility access with other valuable commodities, precious metals desired. · Heavy lift experience and crane safety knowledge, rigging knowledge and lift plan review knowledge. · Knowledge of PMR area facility construction, security systems, ductwork, lining systems, structural steel, architectural finishes, ventilation, and safe work practices is desired. · Effectively direct daily interactions with Chinese LSTK Contractor, equipment vendors, internal, client and external engineering staff to support the project management team.

Key Responsibilities

· Engage directly under the supervision of the Project Manager with the LSTK Contractor in the review of progress drawings, exchange in developing and closing any queries with respect to the final IFC (Issued for Construction Drawings).
· Attend and interact during procurement and logistics phase to facilitate construction from initial equipment reviews, specification reviews,
· Review of general arrangement and structural detail designs, facility construction scheduling requirements, QA/QC documentation review, oversight of all mechanical and electrical equipment installation, architectural finishes, security systems installation, ventilation, ductwork, insulation and storage systems.
· Assure Project QA/QC program is adhered to throughout the construction process and report Non-Compliance issues from inceptions through remediation.
· The PMR Area Manager is responsible for oversight of specific areas including,
· Precious Metal Refinery plant construction, foundation construction, process piping, lining and insulation systems through mechanical, piping, ventilation hoods and ductwork, structural, cranes, mechanical equipment, electrical scope including instrumentation are key responsibilities. · Provides oversight of all contractor activities within his direct assigned area and will liaise with Electrical and Instrumentation discipline engineers. · Attends LSTK Contractors & PMC weekly scheduling meetings and engages for 3 week look ahead meetings and reporting. (3WLA) · Weekly safety site walks as scheduled with contractor and TCE safety team. · Responsible to assure closure of all identified safety risks in assigned areas. · Provide monthly detailed progress report including assistance with TCE Project Quantity Surveyors and scheduling team. · Identify execution and contracts risks monthly. · Support, mentor, guide and build TCE and IKPT team members skills throughout project execution. · Provide oversight on contractor’s efficiency, note periodic studies regarding industry acceptable productivity rates by discipline in respective areas of responsibility. · Identify risks regarding productivity, equipment availability and labor during weekly reporting metrics. |

Position Overview |
o The PMR Area Manager will have 3-4 direct reports, junior discipline engineers organized to manage the primary responsibilities outlined above. |
o Reductions in manpower are expected due to the project 36-month schedule. Cross training and exposure of all area managers and field engineers is a key responsibility. |

o The PMR Area Manager will be responsible to mentor and develop the discipline engineers and prepare progressive talent pool as the project moves forward. |
o Other responsibilities, merging responsibilities and other duties may be assigned. |
