Job Description:
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience out of which minimum 04-05 yrs of experience needs to be in the similar profile
  • FPSO experience is must.
  • BE in Mechanical / Electrical /Instrumentation. But Mechanical background will be given preference
  • If the candidate is from Marine background, he should be holding valid Indian Coc of Chief Engineer license and should have worked in FPSO as Maintenance Superintendent for minimum 05 years

 

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Ensure that personnel assigned to the Maintenance Department are fully conversant with their duties and responsibilities, and provide them with guidance and support promoting Leadership in Safety attitudes
  • Establish levels of competency for subordinates and undertaking to provide coaching/training where shortfalls are identified
  • Carry out objective probationary and annual assessments and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
  • Manage day-to-day disciplinary and performance issues on board, in conjunction with the OIM
  • Be fully prepared to undertake his roles and responsibilities in the event of emergency
  • Supervise a Department consisting of engineers and supervisors with electrical instrument and mechanical fabrication, machine shop and welding skills
  • Maintain and requisitioning stocks of spare parts, consumables, tools, fuel, lubricating oils and chemicals.
  • Ensure that materials received are fit for purpose and revert to the FPSO dedicated buyer if any problem are envisaged
  • Organize, administering and implementing the planned maintenance systems for all the various equipment and machinery onboard, including safety equipment
  • Maintain a record of survey for all Hull, Machinery, Process and Utility equipment ensuring that all administration and Class requirements are complied with and requesting the timely attendance of Surveyors, as appropriate, to ensure a continuous survey regime
  • Communicate to the OIM and onshore Operations Manager, machinery and equipment deficiencies, requesting technical advice as necessary
  • Plan and co-ordinate any necessary Vendor assistance on board in liaison with relevant Department Superintendents
  • Routinely monitor the performance of machinery, equipment and systems; taking corrective action or requesting advice from the HQ, as required; undertakes regular audits of the Maintenance Department
  • Ensuring that machinery and equipment daily logs and workbook records are entered into the Planned Maintenance System so that accurate and comprehensive records are maintained onboard
  • Maintain the Oil Record Book for the Engine Room in accordance with MARPOL Regulations
  • Maintain a close working relationship with all Department Heads and more specifically with the Production Superintendent
  • Propose training of Maintenance personnel to OIM
  • Acting as an Area Authority under the Company Permit to Work System used onboard
  • Ensuring compliance with Company Permit to Work System, Isolation Standards, Risk Assessment Process, etc
  • Be fully familiar with relevant Company procedures and ensure compliance with same at all times by his Department

  • Crew Management; capabilities to manage and ensure that all subordinates have the necessary skills and experience to fulfill their assigned tasks.
  • Engine room plant monitoring
  • Engine room plant preparation for inspection
  • HSE system management for the vessel; capability to manage effective HSE meetings, organize emergency preparedness and response, prepare accurate HSE Reporting; Knowledge and capability to apply Risk Assessment and Job Safety Analysis.
  • ISM Code application; capability to ensure the correct management of the vessel in compliance with the  requirements of the ISM Code.
  • Vessel electrical equipment inspection and maintenance; capability to perform inspections and maintenance on vessel electrical equipment i.e. auxiliary motors, ballast pumps, control panels cranes etc.
  • Vessel equipment stability; full understanding and capability to operate ballast control equipment, pumps, ballast lines, refueling controls, loading and unloading cargo and ballast.
  • Vessel mechanical equipment inspection and maintenance; capability to perform inspections and maintenance on vessel mechanical equipment and power plants and, as necessary, on engine cooling water systems; able to maintain thrusters, ballast pumps and valves, auxiliary equipment, air conditioning plant and refrigerator systems
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance System
